Are you fed up with never being able to get an appointment to see a doctor? Medicalternative provides GP services at YOUR convenience.
We offer short notice, normally same day appointments. We aim to be available to those individuals who have difficulty making appointments at appropriate times or at short notice elsewhere.
Our consultations are 15 or 30 minutes with each patient allowing the GP more time to take a fuller history leading to a more accurate and holistic treatment.

To rationalise the selection process for medical examinations and investigations at Medicalternative, a comprehensive patient plan has been designed to meet the requirements of most people. The examination is included in membership and is also available to non-members. It is designed to focus on those aspects of health, fitness and lifestyle which most frequently give cause for concern, and the investigations include those which provide a valuable assessment for a variety of medical conditions. Additional tests or investigations may be requested on the advice of the doctor when clinically indicated.
The format for the medical examination involves
- completion of a lifestyle and medical history questionnaire prior to the medical examination
- discussion relating to the information provided
followed by a full physical examination including
- Height weight and blood pressure
- Cardiovascular assessment
- Neurological assessment
- Respiratory assessment
- Orthopaedic assessment
- Gastrointestinal assessment
- Vision and hearing
- Any other aspects of clinical concern
and includes
- A follow-up appointment to discuss matters arising from the examination and investigations, and advice on any action or lifestyle change required
A well man/woman check may be requested at the time of any medical examination and involves -
- Well man - testicular examination, rectal examination to assess the prostate gland, and a PSA blood test (screening for prostate cancer)
- Well woman - breast examination, vaginal and pelvic examination and cervical smear (screening for cancer of the cervix)
Pre gym membership health assessment includes height, weight, body mass index (BMI), examination of heart and lungs, respiratory function tests and a cardiograph (ECG).
Medicals for Employment, Driving Licences, Travel and Insurance Purposes etc. are specific for their purpose and are priced according to their individual requirements.

All clients please note: You are required to pay a £50 deposit at least 10 days in advance to secure appointments with /GP/Practice Nurse/Colon Hydrotherapy Nurse and all Medical Cosmetic Treatments. Bookings for a free 15 minute consultation require debit/credit card details. These will be held on file and may be used if you fail to attend for your appointment or give less than 24 hours notice of cancellation. Cash/Debit/Credit Cards Accepted.
