Over the years your lifestyle will have affected the health of your skin and the way you look. With a Beau Visage consultation you can see up to 2mm under the skin and for the first time see and understand why you look the way you do.

A Beau Visage consultation will show you the health of your skin, in particular showing the distribution of blood and melanin in your face that affects your facial appearance. Beau Visage calculates the age of your skin, based on a database of your peers, so you can tell if you are aging faster than you should be.

Worried? Don't be! All is not lost! Once we understand how your skin has been damaged over the years there are treatments and products that can rejuvenate your skin and bring back the youthful appearance, visibly reducing your skin age.

Consultation

The Beau Visage consultation normally takes 30 minutes. This allows for the analysis of your skin and for your printed report to be prepared. You will also have ample time to ask any questions. A series of 3 photographs are taken by the Beau Visage Skin Consultation system (see images below) and these are then analysed to accurately and effectively show you the health of your skin beneath the surface. Your skin care specialist will go through the images on the computer screen with you and they will explain and demonstrate the treatments and products which would be of particular benefit to you. You will then be given a printed report of the consultation to take away.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I have to remove my make-up?
You will be expected to remove the make-up on your cheeks with cleansing facial wipes which are provided. We can replace your make-up using Mineral Make-up which we do recommend. The Beau Visage camera will give a more accurate reading if your skin is free from make-up.

How long does a consultation last?
Between 15 and 30 minutes.

Will I get a report with images to take home?
Yes and we will put it in an envelope so only you see it.

Will anyone else see these images?
Apart from you and your Cosmetic Consultant no. However, if you decide to have treatment the Nurse and Doctor will view the images stored in your file and discuss treatment options with you.

What visible damages will I see? Mainly any redness-dilated capillaries, rosacea and any sun damage-pigmentation and brown spot.

Can pregnant women have this done?
Yes.

Is there anyone who should avoid coming along due to health reasons?
It is as safe as a normal camera although anyone suffering from epilepsy should avoid coming if they are prone to problems from flashing lights.

Is there wheelchair access?
Yes, however, there are no bathroom facilities on the 1st floor which is where your consultation will take place. Please mention when booking your consultation that you require wheel chair access so that we can prepare for your arrival.

Who will I see at Medicalternative for the consultation?
You will see our Cosmetic Assistant, Alex who has worked in a medical environment for many years and is very experienced at making people feel at ease.

Are there any other areas of the body that can be viewed in addition to the face? Yes the backs of the hands, chest and any other area which is a cause for concern.
