My experience is varied having worked for several agencies and in many differing contexts including educational, individual/group counselling and mental health projects for youths in the community.
My training as a Humanistic Counsellor began in 1999 with Children 1st, where once I was qualified I initially acted as a volunteer and I am now an experienced Counselling Supervisor dealing with a variety of life issues such as anxiety and depression, relationships, stress, bereavement and loss and self-esteem.
I continue to challenge both my professional and personal development.
I endeavour to work in the best interests of my clients offering respect for them and their welfare, as well as the value of the issues they bring.
In general, people who experience emotional problems benefit from some form of counselling, yet these positive beneficial outcomes vary according to client, therapist and the form of counselling utilised for the healing process. Given this information, I ask the question what kind of therapist do you want? What characteristics are important to you when seeking a counsellor? If you are seeking someone who is an attentive and empathic listener, who can help you with the problems you are experiencing then I am ideally placed to help you, as within a humanistic therapeutic alliance you are offered an environment of empathy, acceptance, respect, trust and confidentiality, within which you are enabled to explore various aspects of your life and the feelings concerning those aspects, I will encourage the expression of feelings.
