Fiona Lindsay qualified as a physiotherapist in London. She has been practicing for over 10 years in rehab including surgery, sports injuries and neurology. Fiona has worked in the NHS, the army, the private sector and overseas, including Tibetan and Indian rehabilitation. She uses a combination of eastern and western techniques to deliver the highest standard of physiotherapy. Fiona is also the director of Athletes' Angels Ltd. Fiona cares deeply about the long-term conditions of her clients. She believes that everyone has the potential to reduce pain and gain stronger movement without hurting themselves.

How does this work?

Physiotherapy aims to prevent dis-ease. Fiona works on the tissues of the body (bone, muscle, ligaments, tendons, joints and facia) to gain pain free, strong, range of movement. She combines both eastern and western techniques of treatment to help chronic and acute problems such as back pain, whiplash, muscle pain, stiffness, sports injuries, arthritis, weakness, twisted joints, pelvic instability and many other ailments. Her aim is to diagnose, treat and prevent/manage the condition from returning.

Fiona likes to understand exactly what the client needs. Your initial session usually involves an in-depth discussion and physical assessment. This is done by taking a medical history, then carefully assessing the clients ligaments, bone, tendons, muscles, joints and alignment. In some cases, she may look at posture and stability of joints.

Fiona works using her hands on the client to reduce pain, and increase range of movement. This is done in the form of massage, mobilisation and gentle manipulation. She works with the client to explain what they have done and often gives them an exercise programme to enhance the treatment.

How many sessions will the client need?

This depends on your consultation and needs. Someone may need to be seen twice a week if they are in much pain, while others may be given an exercise programme to work on for a month before returning. Fiona discusses prognosis with her clients and they work together to formulate a treatment plan.
