Jane McCallum RGN RCN Member Member of British Association of Sclerotherapists. | |
| I originate from the South of England and trained at Guys Hospital, London as a Registered General Nurse. Most of my early career was spent on General Surgery wards where I worked initially as a Staff Nurse gradually working my way towards being a Ward Sister. I spent 2 years at the Wellington Hospital as a junior Ward Sister and then 5 years as a Senior Ward Sister at King Edward VII's hospital for Officers, London. Further promotion took me away from the patients and in to hospital administration which I did not enjoy. I subsequently left, and with the support of the consultants and GPs I had worked with set up an independent visiting nursing service, providing care at home to patients either after surgery or needing any kind of nursing help. A move to Scotland and a young family meant tailoring my work to fit and I worked among other things as a part time Marie Curie Nurse before taking a course in Practice Nursing. I have been a Practice Nurse for seven years now and enjoy the wide variety of work and experience it brings enormously. I have training and experience in many areas of nursing, including cervical screening, travel health, health screening, wound care, diabetes, asthma and Sclerotherapy. At Medicalternative I have been able to further extend my knowledge and have received training and experience in cosmetic treatments whilst continuing with general practice nurse work. Cosmetic treatments are very popular and I am pleased to be able to offer this service with a professional medical approach supported by a team of excellent people. See also my website: www.thelegclinic.co.uk for information on Sclerotherapy treatments. | ||
