Excessive Sweating

It is estimated that about 1% of the population suffer from the embarrassing condition of Hyperhidrosis, which is excessive sweating. Genetics are considered a contributing factor as half of the sufferers have a relative with the same problem. Other identified triggers include exercise, alcohol, caffeine, smoking, stress and anxiety.

Sweating is nature's way of body heat regulation, but individuals with Hyperhidrosis produce more sweat than is necessary to control their body's temperature. Hyperhidrosis is not responsible for body odour, this is caused by bacteria in stale sweat. It can have devastating effects on sufferer’s self esteem, affecting their confidence socially and in the work place

While medication and surgery have not proven to be very effective in its treatment Botox® injections can quickly give effective relief which lasts for up to one year.

Prior to your treatment you will have a 15 minute consultation our Nurse to ensure Botox® is the appropriate treatment for you. At this stage we would also discuss any concerns or answer any questions you might have concerning the procedure.
