Palomar Laser 1540 Fractional™
The Palomar Starlux® 1540 Fractional™ Laser System (Palomar Laser) delivers laser energy in an array of narrow, focused microbeams, to create columns of heat ((coagulation) within the skin. The heated tissue within the columns initiates a natural healing process that forms new, healthy tissue. This results in a fresher, more youthful skin tone and texture. It is suitable for treating scars, fine lines and wrinkles and loss of skin tone.
Non-ablative skin resurfacing with the Palomar Laser can be used to treat any body area, including face, chest, arms and hands. The Palomar Laser beams penetrate deeper into the dermis than any competing device for effective, long term results. The non-ablative approach stimulates quick healing in the dermis (under the skin surface), while leaving the epidermis (the skin surface) intact, with no lasting redness.

Frequently Asked QuestionsDoes the treatment hurt?
The Palomar Laser system has built-in cooling of the skin, so you may feel only minor discomfort during your treatment.
What will I feel after the treatment?
You have a lingering redness, warmth, swelling or tightness of the treated area which generally fades within a few hours of your treatment. You generally do not require 'recovery' time and can return to work and most activities.
How many treatments will I need?
Most people will require at least 3 treatments and up to 5 at 4-6 weekly intervals may be necessary to achieve your desired result. Your doctor or nurse will discuss this with you at your initial consultation.
Are there any contra-indications?
There are very few contra-indications to treatment this will be discussed at your consultation.
Acne scarring?
The Palomar Laser stimulates collagen production and thus fill out scar tissue. Better results can be achieved when combined with chemical peel or microdermabrasion. Best results are achieved several months after treatment.
Stretch Marks?
The Palomar Laser it suitable for Pink and Red stretch marks only it will not make any difference to White or Silver ones.
Fine lines and wrinkles?
The Palomar Starlux® 1540 Fractional™ Laser System is very effective in the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles especially around the eyes and mouth. A course of treatments may be required to achieve the desired results, your Medicalternative doctor or nurse will discuss this with at your initial consultation
